NORTH RICHLAND HILLS, TEXAS, July 6, 2015 ­– The Automotive Management Institute (AMi) – in conjunction with Babcox Media – has announced Justin Kime, office manager of Kime Collision Corp. in Standish, Mich., as recipient of the BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship. The scholarship recognizes a management-oriented member of the Automotive Service Association (ASA). The recipient receives $1,000 to be applied toward expenses to attend educational sessions and view the latest repair technologies and equipment during the International Autobody Congress & Exposition (NACE), to be held July 21-25 this year in Detroit. Kime has worked in the repair industry for almost two years. He is an I-CAR Platinum Level Estimator and recently completed the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. When not working in the shop, he contributes his time to various industry organizations. “I’m grateful to be selected as the recipient of the BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship and to be given this opportunity to further my education in the collision repair industry,” said Kime. Sheri HAMilton, AAM, ASA- Midwest, Kansas City, Mo., was elected as chair; Darrell Amberson, AAM, LaMettry’s Collision Inc., Minneapolis, Minn., elected as vice chair; Bob Keith, AAM, CARSTAR, Leawood, Kan., re-elected as treasurer; and Gary Keyes, AAM, E&M Motors Inc., Stuart, Fla., elected as secretary. Other board members include Tony Passwater, AAM, AEII, Indianapolis, Ind.; Terry Wynter, AAM, Terry Wynter Auto Service Center, Fort Myers, Fla., and Dan Risley, president, Automotive Service Association, North Richland Hills, Texas. “I look forward to working with this group of trustees, who represent such a diverse range of industry experience and backgrounds. Application Deadline is June 15 North Richland Hills, Texas,May 12, 2015 — The Automotive Management Institute (AMi) is accepting applications for the $1,000 Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket “High Octane” Scholarship. AMi’s resource development effort, EXCEL, in conjunction with Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket, established the scholarship, which is awarded to an Automotive Service Association (ASA) Mechanical Division member who strives to be, or is presently working in a management capacity. Arrowhead Automotive Aftermarket, of Overland Park KS (formerly known as Automotive Specialty Markets) is now a division of Arrowhead General Insurance Agency and continues as a leader in the automotive business insurance industry, and provides the scholarship program specifically to address the educational needs of automotive service and repair businesses. The scholarship will be applied toward the recipient’s expenses to attend the 2015 Congress of Automotive Repair and Service (CARS) in Detroit, July 23-25.
