AMI Announces 2009 AVI Education Scholarship Recipients
Burgard, a service advisor for Wittneben Auto Service, Sheboygan, Wis., has worked in the automotive service industry for more than three years. He is currently working on completing the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. When not working in the shop, he contributes his time to various community and industry organizations. “I’m grateful to receive this scholarship. It offers me the opportunity to expand my knowledge of the industry and gain the skills necessary to become a service manager,” said Burgard. Bydlon, a technician for Auto Electric Co., Robbinsdale, Minn., has worked in the automotive service industry for more than 35 years. He currently holds several ASE certifications and earned the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation in 2002. When not working in the shop, he contributes his time to various community and industry organizations. “I’m grateful to receive this scholarship. It offers me the opportunity to further my technical training and management education. Attending Automotive Service and Repair Week (ASRW) and learning from some of the world’s best will be a wonderful experience,” said Bydlon. Levin a manager for Pellman’s Automotive, Boulder, Colo., has worked in the automotive service industry for 15 years. He holds several ASE certifications and is currently working on completing the necessary requirements to earn the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation. “I’m honored and grateful to receive this scholarship. Attending this premier training event will provide opportunities to enhance my technical skills as well as management education and I look forward to sharing the information with my crew when I return to the shop,” said Levin. AMI was established to answer the demand for continuing education tailored specifically for the business needs of the automotive service industry.
