AMI Invites Fans to Join Its New Facebook Community

Bedford, Texas, Oct. 7, 2009 — The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) has launched a page on Facebook, the social networking Web site, in efforts to communicate electronically and instantly with various audiences within the automotive service industry. Fans who join AMI’s Facebook community will be able to network with peers, participate in discussions and receive timely news and information about AMI.

To become a fan and join the AMI Facebook community, go to www.facebook.com and type “Automotive Management Institute” in the search field located in the top right hand corner of the Facebook home page. Click “Become a Fan” when the AMI page is displayed. AMI’s page also can be accessed by clicking the Facebook logo on the AMI Web site, www.amionline.org.

“Shop owners and managers in the automotive service industry already use the Internet for many important day-to-day tasks and we look forward to having them join and participate in the AMI online community,” said AMI Executive Director Toni Slaton, AAM. “We also plan to use our Facebook page to get feedback and comments from the industry as we create and develop new management education courses.”

AMI was established to answer the demand for continuing education tailored specifically for the business needs of the automotive service industry. The Institute offers the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation, the first business management accreditation exclusively for the automotive service professional. To date, AMI programs have attracted more than 177,000 enrollments throughout North America. AMI is a not-for-profit educational foundation to which tax-deductible contributions can be made. For more information about the Institute, its curriculum, or EXCEL, please contact AMI at (800) 272-7467, ext. 239, or visit the AMI Web site at www.amionline.org.
