Bedford, Texas, May 11, 2009 — Automotive Training Institute (ATI), Savage, Md., received the Automotive Management Institute’s (AMI’s) most prestigious honor - the AMI Annual Recognition Award. The award is presented to an organization or individual who has taken specific and significant action to encourage, enhance and support opportunities for automotive service industry professionals to improve their management and business skills.

The award was presented by AMI Board of Trustees Chairman George Witt, AAM, during the Automotive Service Association (ASA) Celebration of Excellence, held May 2, in Orlando, Fla. “ATI, its founder, Chris Frederick, and the entire staff have a great passion for the automotive industry,” said Witt. “Over the past 25 years, this remarkable organization and its coaching and consulting programs have helped more than 5,000 shop owners increase their profits.

Richard Menneg, president and COO of ATI, accepted the award on behalf of ATI and stated, “It is a great honor to receive this award and be recognized for our deep commitment to the automotive service industry and continuing education.”

Frederick and many on his staff are frequent instructors and speakers at industry events. During the 2008 calendar year, ATI delivered 186 AMI-approved training sessions in cities across the country. ATI also is an EXCEL partner having pledged $25,000 to AMI in 2007.

AMI was established to answer the demand for continuing education tailored specifically for the business needs of the automotive service industry. The Institute offers the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation, the first business management accreditation exclusively for the automotive service professional. To date, AMI programs have attracted more than 177,000 enrollments throughout North America. AMI is a not-for-profit educational foundation to which tax-deductible contributions can be made.
