ASA-Washington Fulfills $50,000 Commitment to AMI

Bedford, Texas, Feb. 12, 2009 — The Automotive Service Association (ASA) of Washington recently fulfilled its $50,000 Charter Counselor commitment to the Automotive Management Institute (AMI). This commitment, combined with other leadership contributions, ensures AMI’s ability to continue its mission of providing and promoting practical business management education tailored to the automotive service industry.

The presentation ceremony took place during ASA-Washington’s Winter Retreat, Jan. 22-25, in Leavenworth, Wash. ASA-Washington is an association of automotive service businesses dedicated to improving the automotive service industry and the success of its members.

AMI Chairman George Witt, AAM, owner of George Witt Service, Inc., Lincoln, Neb., stated, “ASA-Washington has demonstrated its dedication to AMI and the automotive industry through their financial commitment. AMI is proud to have ASA-Washington as a partner. Both organizations share a focus in the automotive service industry on enhancing business practices through management education; making management education accessible; and increasing expertise and professionalism in the industry.”

“AMI provides a means for shop owners and managers to improve their business management skills. At ASA-Washington, we too are committed to helping our members succeed. The partnership between AMI and ASA-Washington helps ensure our members build and maintain strong, sound businesses,” said ASA-Washington’s Executive Director, Jeff Lovell, AAM.

“ASA-Washington has been affiliated with AMI since its inception in 1989. Their support for AMI far exceeds their financial commitment; the organization truly values education, having sponsored 196 management workshops during the past 20 years. We extend our greatest appreciation to ASA-Washington and its leadership for the organization’s tremendous support and commitment to AMI,” said AMI’s Executive Director, Toni Slaton, AAM.

AMI was established to answer the demand for continuing education tailored specifically for the business needs of the automotive service industry. The Institute offers the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation, the first business management accreditation exclusively for the automotive service professional. To date, AMI programs have attracted more than 163,000 enrollments throughout North America. AMI is a not-for-profit educational foundation to which tax-deductible contributions can be made.
