AMI Launches Informative Monthly Webinars

Bedford, Texas, July 24, 2008 — The Automotive Management Institute (AMI), the leading provider of management education tailored to the automotive service and repair industry, will host monthly Webinars beginning in August of 2008.

Complete information and online registration for the Webinars is available at www.AMIeducationonline.com. Dates, topics and presenters for upcoming Webinars include:

• August 8: Service Marketing for the Independent Service Facility presented by George Witt

• September 9: Turn Your Employees into Superstars presented by Bob Cooper

• October 14: Beyond the Books ... OEM Service Information Web Sites presented by Bill Haas

• November 11: Built to Last Customer Service presented by Gary Gunn

• December 9: Lip Service – First Class Telephone Skills presented by Margie Seyfer

Webinar, short for Web-based seminar, is just like an instructor-led seminar; however, participants view the presentation through their Web-browser and listen to the audio through their telephone. A key feature of a Webinar is its interactive elements – the ability to give, receive and discuss information.

AMI Webinars combine the strengths of instructor-led classroom training with the advantages of online convenience and accessibility. The online sessions are complete with student handouts, industry-specific course content, student participation and a Q & A session.

Monthly Webinars will be offered on a variety of topics including sales and marketing, customer service, telephone skills, employee management and more.

“One of the biggest challenges facing automotive service and repair businesses is that people don't have time to get away to do an all-day training session,” said AMI Board of Trustees Chairman, George Witt, AAM. “Webinars make it possible to sidestep that time shortage. In a matter of an hour, participants will walk away with real-world tips and tools to implement in their businesses.”

Small businesses seek solutions that are both affordable and easy to use, “The convenience and flexibility of AMI-approved Webinars will enable shop owners and managers to educate several employees at once, reduce travel expenses, and maintain consistent levels of productivity by eliminating time out of the shop,” said Toni Slaton, AAM, AMI’s executive director.

Students can use the web site to register for upcoming live, interactive Webinars or take advantage of previously offered sessions in the on-demand archive. Participants of the 60-minute Webinars will earn two credits toward the Institute’s Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation.

AMI was established to answer the demand for continuing education tailored specifically for the business needs of the automotive service industry. The Institute offers the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation, the first business management accreditation exclusively for the automotive service professional. To date, AMI programs have attracted more than 165,000 enrollments throughout North America. AMI is a not-for-profit educational foundation to which tax-deductible contributions can be made.
