Paul Louwers Receives AMI Annual Recognition Award
Bedford, Texas, May 16, 2008 — Paul Louwers, president and CEO of Automotive Video, Inc., Ft. Myers, Fla., received the Automotive Management Institute’s (AMI’s) most prestigious honor — the AMI Annual Recognition Award. The award is presented to an organization or individual who has taken specific and significant action to encourage, enhance and support opportunities for automotive service industry professionals to improve their management and business skills.
The award was presented during the Automotive Service Association (ASA) Celebration of Excellence, held May 3, in Santa Clara, Calif., by AMI Board of Trustees Chairman, George Witt, AAM. “Paul has supported and provided assistance to AMI in the completion of several important projects,” said Witt. “His many contributions, vision and enthusiasm demonstrate his dedication and true commitment to AMI’s program and the automotive service industry.”
Louwers accepted the award and stated, “It is a great honor to receive this award and be recognized for my deep commitment to training and the automotive service and repair industry.”
Louwers and his company produced a public service announcement for AMI to use in promoting its program. He is an avid supporter of industry events and annually organizes a fundraiser to provide several scholarships to help shop owners and managers attend management and technical courses offered during the Congress of Automotive Repairs and Service (CARS) held annually in Las Vegas.
Louwers and his company recorded and produced seven AMI-approved courses; another two are in production and there is a firm commitment to produce many more. The commitment advances AMI’s goal of providing more self-study based material for students.
AMI was established to answer the demand for continuing education tailored specifically for the business needs of the automotive service industry. The Institute offers the Accredited Automotive Manager (AAM) designation, the first business management accreditation exclusively for the automotive service professional. To date, AMI programs have attracted more than 163,000 enrollments throughout North America. AMI is a not-for-profit educational foundation to which tax-deductible contributions can be made.
