What is the Babcox Publication BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship?
The Automotive Management Institute (AMI) in conjunction with Babcox Publications and the Automotive Service Association (ASA) Collision Division has established the Babcox Publication BodyShop Business Magazine Scholarship to award an applicant from the ASA Collision Division with a $1,000 scholarship.
The $1,000 scholarship award will be applied to the recipient's expenses to attend the 2013 International Autobody Congress and Exposition (NACE) at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas, Oct. 16-18, 2013. Expenses include travel, hotel, NACE registration.
Automotive Service & Repair Week (ASRW) is the premier event dedicated to the automotive service and repair industries. Created in 2008 to bring all segments of the industry together under one comprehensive, all-inclusive event, ASRW features two events: NACE and CARS.
Who should apply for this scholarship?
All management-oriented, autobody service professionals, including those who are not in management but are striving to reach this level, and who meet the following list of qualifications should apply.
- Applicant must be a minimum of 21 years of age.
- Applicant must be an individual working in collision repair service who has demonstrated an interest in improving through management education.
- Applicant must own and/or work for a business that is an ASA member in good standing.
- Applicant must be recommend by the business owner. This does not exclude the ASA business owner from recommending self.
Note: AMI trustees and their employees and the Babcox Publications Scholarship selection committee and their employees are not eligible to apply. Previous recipients are not eligible.

Applicants will be evaluated based on the following:
- Demonstrated interest in management education.

Complete and submit the application by Aug. 23, 2013. The application is available as a downloadable PDF or an online form. Scholarship recipient will be notified by AMI on or before Aug. 30, 2013. No cash substitution will be given.
